2020 has been an exciting year for the Dallas Women Lawyers Association Foundation.  The Foundation has been able to make a difference for women in the Dallas metropolitan area and the legal community by supporting the following:

2020 Recipients

Bar Study Scholarship

Each year, the Dallas Women Lawyers Foundation provides three $1500 Bar Study Scholarships to graduating law students from Dallas area law schools who have demonstrated a commitment to scholastic achievement while furthering the DWLA’s mission to elevate the standing of women in the legal profession.

Outreach Grant Recipients

Attitudes & Attire®

  • $500 donation to fund the Core Program at Attitudes & Attire®, which is a series of three workshops designed to guide women as they identify their positive attributes and teach them skills to maintain an empowered attitude with the purpose of eliminating the cycle of poverty by providing women with building blocks to overcome barriers standing in their way of self-sufficiency.

Unlocking DOORS

  • $500 donation to Unlocking DOORS to help fund their annual Texas Reentry Symposium, which will take place virtually on September 29, 2020.  The Symposium will be featuring a documentary made by a local filmmaker called “In Her Shoes” that focuses on the struggles, reality and dreams of female offenders housed in the Dallas County Jail.

Dallas Bar Association’s “Tip the Scales” Challenge

  • $500 donation to Genesis
  • $500 to Hopes Door
